EDUC 5313 - Week 3 Blog   In today’s rapidly changing world, learning goes beyond simply acquiring facts – it is about developing deep understanding, critical thinking, and the ability to apply knowledge in new contexts. How People Learn II, Chapter 5 highlights the importance of reasoning and knowledge transfer, while the ISTE student Standard 1.3.a., Knowledge Constructor, encourages students to critically curate and evaluate information. Gura (2020) emphasizes the creative learning environments foster innovation, problem-solving, and exploration (p. 7). After more than 35 years as a radiographer in the medical imaging profession and 8 years as an educator in the field, I decided to pursue my master's degree in education to better support my students. Learning new technology does not come naturally to me, but I am excited to explore this platform and connect with others who are passionate about education and lifelong learning. Thanks for joining me on this journey. Part 2 : This week I chose to review the ISTE Empowered Learner indicator 1a, which focuses on students learning to set goals, develop strategies utilizing technology to achieve those goals, and reflect on the learning process to improve learning outcomes. Oklahoma high school students, grades 9-12, can address information literacy standard 5.12.1 by working collaboratively to include diverse perspectives in problem-solving and by actively engaging in asking and answering questions. They can also meet standard 5....
